Corgi Land Rovers

Models # 1 & 2

As Bought:

These 2 old landrovers were bought with a project in mind for which I have used the green model..

Restoration:

The model I had in mind was a reproduction of the late Fred Dibnah's Land Rover.
Fred was a Bolton Steeplejack and was also famed for his interest in Steam traction engines and anything old and mechanical.
He is probably best known for his various television series on these subjects. I thought he was a "real character" and would dearly have loved to have met him. It was because of my admiration for him that I decided to build a reproduction of the Land Rover that he drove.
The model was stripped and the hole in the bonnet filled in. It was then given a coat of primer and painted in burgundy.
A framework was made up working from photographs of the actual vehicle.

The decals are hand made using Paint Shop Pro and printed onto white decal paper on an ordinary deskjet printer. They were then sealed with 2 coats of liquid decal film.

The grey model is at present under conversion to an RAF Land Rover.
